Crime Victim Assistance Program Counselling Services

I am a Crime Victims Assistance Program registered Clinical Counsellor, and have a number of CVAP spots available in my practice.

Training and experience in trauma-informed treatments, such as Sensorimotor psychotherapy, EMDR, DBT, IFS, and ISTDP allow me to match my approach to what will be most effective for the person I am working with.

For trauma survivors who grew up in families where they felt safe, nurtured, and could rely on their caregivers to help them deal with distressing emotions, trauma treatment is more straightforward. Growing up with secure attachment wires the brain and nervous system to support optimal growth and development.

The ability to recognize and respond appropriately to those with insecure attachment, either avoidant/dismissive, anxious/preoccupied, or disorganized, is an essential foundation for effective treatment of complex, or developmental, trauma.

I help survivors of trauma to reduce symptoms such as anxiety, depression, flashbacks, nightmares, explosivity, chronic shut down, and loss of confidence and self esteem, so they can reclaim their bodies, and their lives.
